I am an Oncology and Holistic Registered Nurse, a nationally certified massage therapist and Reiki Master. I discovered the Relaxation in a Bag flax seed neck pillow during my personal treatment. My massage office is in an oncology medical office where we treat hematology and oncology patients. The room is very serene; we call it the holistic room. The patients love the work and for many it has been a key factor in surviving a very frightening and disabling experience.

As most of my clients are cancer patients, the Relaxation in a Bag pillow offers immediate relief when it is placed under the crown of the head and neck, gently pressing the gates of consciousness at the occipital ridge. After the upper body is massaged, the pillow is again placed around the posterior cervical area and serves to relax and soften the muscles for later work. It decreases cervical, shoulder, and trapezius pain. Often my clients have bone mets, and I am limited in the amount of soft tissue massage I can offer, so the pillow serves as a way to relax tightened muscles.

Those clients with breast cancer who have had a mastectomy or lumpectomy, usually have tight fascia and always have cervical and shoulder pain due to the pulling, anatomical dissymmetry often made worse by bone stimulating injections that boost the immune system. These injection cause increased boney pain, often at the upper vertebral level and the pillow, massage, and reiki are very helpful.

Another special feature of the cervical pillow is the nurturing aspect. Women with breast cancer are a special population who often respond to many forms of nurturing and support. For many, they have nurtured family and loved ones, and have often not learned to nurture themselves. Our clients have told us that when they are at home, fearful, anxious or in discomfort, the warm cervical pillow feels like we are hugging them; Guided imagery tapes, music, aromatherapy along with the pillow has provided these women with great comfort and healing.

I can support the fact that it greatly helps the cancer patient; for this population we need to be as creative as possible. BRAVO - Your product makes a difference.
